Now I know why they call it a "House" on wheels

Arrived at Sumpter Oaks RV Park in Bushnell, Florida Tuesday with the plan to stay for at least a week. We've been looking forward to actually staying in one place for a longer period of time to do some organizing and continue the ongoing learning exercise of getting to know our Van.

Like most RV's, it has many of the same systems you'd find in a house, i.e. heating system (propane), water, plumbing, hot water heater, sewer, electrical, battery, refrigeration, generator, etc.  Of course, it is also a moving vehicle with all the requisite motor vehicle components (engine, tires, exhaust, yada yada yada.

Here is a short list of the tasks Andre (with minimal assistance from me) worked on in the past two days:

*Troubleshoot remaining issues from hot water heater problem during the first week.
*Attempted repair of bent awning pole crushed/damaged during storage in the back of the van.
*Replaced sewer drain hose
*Fixed bathroom door mechanism
*Installed shelves in Cupboard so we could get our food out of random bags/boxes
*Re-organized storage areas
*Got oil change for van
*Sorted through clothes to cull out winter things to be mailed back to RI for storage (this one's my favorite!)

So even though we no longer have a lawn to mow, fear not!  We still have home repair tasks to be kept up with, cleaning to be done, and especially important, organization and re-organization of everything in our very small living space to optimize every square inch we have. Tomorrow I will post some exterior photos of our electrical and sewer hookups so you can see what it looks like (I know you can't wait for that - who doesn't love sewer photos?).

For now, I will include some photos of the food shelving Andre just installed tonight.  The food has only been roughly organized, just basically threw it all in there tonight. The plan is to have canned goods/heavy items at the bottom, maybe in boxes or bins that can be pulled out. Lighter stuff on the upper shelves. Just wanted to share a piece of our more mundane daily life.
